"Create high-quality content and images that reflect Latin American talent."
This short film is truly a collaborative effort between many talented individuals from both Puerto Rico and Latin America. It is our desire to create a high-quality piece that will represent us in global and local festivals."
Two painters, two parallel stories, and two similar events lead Luisa and Don Eugenio to develop a peculiar friendship through a gesture of kindness. Luisa plans a stay on the island of Puerto Rico in search of a muse. Since the death of her husband Carlos, Luisa, a fifty-year-old artist with an extensive career as a painter, does not feel the same passion for painting. While suffering the loss of her husband due to a prolonged illness, Luisa locks herself in a world of sadness and great loneliness. Don Eugenio, a great painter, deaf from birth and in his seventies, navigates his daily life with a new impediment, the loss of his sight. Harassed and tired, Don Eugenio lives fighting the world. Deaf and now blind, Don Eugenio suffers the loss of his wife who dies suddenly, leaving him in a mental drift and with little desire to live. His only reason for living is to finish his masterpiece. That painting that he postponed for a long time and that now becomes imminent due to the threat of becoming completely blind.

Marla, a music teacher untangling a painful divorce, and her 16‑year‑old daughter Jennie, reeling from their family’s unraveling, now drift through the same house on different frequencies. Marla’s world is a crescendo of unpaid bills and unresolved grief; Jennie’s refuge is the steady thrum of her headphones as she searches for a safe place to confide. One late afternoon, their separate playlists, Marla’s classic guitar and Jennie’s rock beats escape their rooms and unexpectedly intertwine. In that fragile harmony, mother and daughter finally hear each other’s heartache, realize they have always been each other’s sanctuary, and “switch” from isolation to unconditional love. A tender, music‑driven portrait of loss, growing up, and the moment two distant hearts find the same song.
About the Film
Musings is a musical short film about what happens when we silence our creative voice. "A quitting singer/songwriter gives in to the pressures of real life, as an ancient muse desperately tries to reach her or face extinction – while the fate of all human creativity hangs in the balance." It’s a poetic, funny, and deeply moving reminder that art is not just a luxury — it’s survival.
